All plans on hold ?
All plans on hold?
April 2020 and the usual isn’t what it was . Much of life is now on hold until this crisis is over. This includes my plans .
It’s now pushing on 8 months since I applied for Grandad’s war records from the MOD. If my chances of receiving a response were slim before they are now just about nil. The last contact I had with the organisation was before Christmas when I received a promise that my request would be resolved by the new year . That was a promise as empty as my mailbox. To be fair they didn’t say which year!
One day I will travel to Italy to visit the places Grandad passed through more than 75 years ago . Until then I’ll console myself by learning a little of the language to make things a bit more interesting once the opportunity arises .
The third week of Corona restrictions is coming to a close . I’m fortunate enough to still be working and to some extent it’s life as normal . My immediate family is confined to the house which means we are all spending much more time together. This has been both a positive and a negative . However regardless it’ has been a wake up call that there are things I need to address at home.
My oldest son has been diagnosed with OCD and is receiving help in the form of counselling. My daughter has also been suffering with mental health issues related to anxiety and body dysmorphia . Spending time together has only highlighted their problems. I now have time and opportunity to make a difference for them. Much of life is habitual . It’s not until something disruptive comes along that one realises this . Old negative habits can be replaced with new more positive ones. I would like to make something positive out of this situation and help my family best I can . If on the way some of my own more negative habits are changed , all the better.
All plans on hold ….actually no !
